This Privacy Policy explains how Smith Insuratech LLC ("we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with our lead marketplace platform (the "Platform"). It covers both (i) information about the insurance agents who use the Platform ("Agents") and (ii) the consumer lead information that we process and license to Agents ("Consumer Data").
When you register and use the Platform we collect: your name, email address, agency name (optional), and phone number (optional); a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your password in plain text); your role and account status; and records of your acceptance of our agreements (including the name you type, the version accepted, the date/time, your IP address, and your browser user-agent). We also collect purchase and activity records, including orders, amounts, the Stripe payment reference, the IP address used at purchase, the leads assigned to you, and the dispositions and notes you record.
To secure your account we use email-based two-factor authentication. We generate one-time codes (stored only in hashed form and for a short time) and send them to your email. We set a single essential, httpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
We obtain consumer lead records from third-party data sources and license them to Agents. Consumer Data may include a consumer's name, postal address, city/state/ZIP, phone number, email address, date of birth, age, gender, IP address, and consent/provenance identifiers (such as Jornaya Lead IDs and TrustedForm certificates). We process this data to prepare, list, and deliver leads to Agents and to operate the Platform.
Card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers; Stripe handles card data under its own security and privacy practices. We store only non-sensitive transaction records (amounts, order details, and Stripe reference IDs).
We use information to: provide and operate the Platform; create and secure accounts; authenticate users; process purchases and deliver leads; send transactional emails (verification codes, lead deliveries, sale notifications); maintain records and evidence of agreements, deliveries, and disputes; prevent fraud and abuse; and comply with legal obligations.
We share Consumer Data with the purchasing Agent as part of a licensed lead. We share information with service providers who operate the Platform on our behalf, including: Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), Supabase (database hosting), and Vercel (application hosting). We may disclose information to comply with law, enforce our agreements, or protect our rights, and in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell Agent personal information to advertisers.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encryption of data in transit (HTTPS), hashing of passwords and one-time codes, access controls, and login gating of all data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain account, transaction, agreement-acceptance, delivery, and disposition records for as long as your account is active and thereafter as needed to operate the business, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.
Agents may update account information or request deletion of their account by contacting admin@insuratech.biz. Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to opt out of certain processing. Consumers whose information appears in our data, or anyone wishing to make a do-not-contact or deletion request, may contact admin@insuratech.biz, and we will process requests as required by applicable law. Because Agents contact leads directly, requests relating to a specific agent's outreach may also need to be directed to that agent.
We do not place calls or texts to consumers; Agents do. Agents are contractually required to independently scrub leads against Do-Not-Call registries and comply with the TCPA and all telemarketing laws.
The Platform is intended for licensed insurance professionals and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version. Material changes may be communicated through the Platform.
